The four chairs of the University of Florida’s “neuromedicine” departments — neurology, neuroscience, neurosurgery and psychiatry — will discuss the latest research and medical initiatives from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday (March 17) in the MBI’s DeWeese Auditorium.

MBI Executive Director and Neurology Chairman Tetsuo Ashizawa, M.D., Neurosurgery Chairman William Friedman, M.D., Ph.D., Neuroscience Chair Lucia Notterpek, Ph.D., and Psychiatry Chairman Mark Gold, M.D., will deliver neuromedicine updates.

Afterward, faculty and students will discuss research topics in LG-110 followed by a poster session.

The events are part of Brain Awareness Week global campaign to increase public knowledge about the progress and benefits of brain research and it began earlier this week when a group of Orlando high school students were given a primer on the brain by UF postdoctoral and research associates.
