Brain injury program gets creative support

Cindy LaRoe, M.D., had to give up her medical practice and her other passion — cycling — after an accident while racing left her with a traumatic brain injury. Now an artist, she and husband Ken LaRoe, chairman of Orlando-based First GREEN Bank, pour their passions into raising money to support UF’s Trauma, Concussion & Sports Neuromedicine program.

On Tuesday, Jan. 23, the LaRoes presented the proceeds from their Art of Medicine Foundation gala and a matching contribution from UF’s McKnight Brain Institute to TRACS director Michael Jaffee, M.D., and MBI deputy director Steven DeKosky, M.D.
