Dr. Melissa Armstrong leads development of new disorders of consciousness guidelines

Doctor Melissa ArmstrongMelissa Armstrong, M.D., M.Sc., director of the Mangurian Clinical-Research Center for Lewy Body and Parkinson’s Disease Dementia at the Fixel Center for Neurological Diseases at UF Health, was senior author on a new guideline for managing vegetative and minimally conscious states.

The guideline was released by the American Academy of Neurology, or AAN; the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine; and the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research.
