Dr. Andres Pumariega discusses a lifesaving suicide prevention tool

PumariegaSuicides take about twice as many lives as homicides. A simple series of six questions known as the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale, or C-SSRS, can be used by anyone to help save lives.

Andres Pumariega, M.D., chief of the division of child and adolescent psychiatry and MBI member, describes the tool, which he helped adapt for public use.
