Eight UF research teams awarded MBI grant funding

By Todd Taylor

The McKnight Brain Institute will distribute $744,000 in research funding to eight teams of investigators conducting neuroscience and neuromedicine research at the University of Florida.

The funding supports investigator-initiated programmatic research and the acquisition of essential equipment for research projects with potential to gain extramural grant support and facilitate collaborative science at UF.

“These awards will advance the MBI’s mission of supporting collaborative research to increase our understanding of how the central nervous system works and how it is affected by disease,” said Kevin St.P. McNaught, Ph.D., MBI Chief Science Officer. “Ultimately, we hope that these studies and resources will help lead to the development of better treatments for patients.”
