Neuro departments Top 5 overall in NIH funding

Neuromedicine and neuroscience research at UF ranked Top 5 among all universities (public and private) in the 2022 rankings of NIH funding published by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research, released Feb. 10.

UF’s Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery earned $13.8 million in NIH funding, ranking third among public universities and fourth overall.

With $31.5 million in NIH funding to the departments of neuroscience and neurology, UF ranked third among public universities and fifth overall in neurosciences, a combined ranking for the two departments. UF neurosciences rose from a ranking of No. 5 among public universities and No. 11 overall in 2021.
