Message from the director, Dr. Todd Golde

Dear Colleagues:

The fall semester is off and running and as always, I’m so proud of the outstanding work our MBI researchers are engaged in.

I ask everyone to please take some time from your busy schedules to create an entry for the MBI’s enhanced, online membership. Note that both new and existing MBI members need to complete the new online process, which requires you to log in with your GatorLink credentials. By thoughtfully completing your membership profile, you will help us foster new collaborations, broaden our impact, target our messaging and accurately report our research activities. Click here to create your new online membership profile.

We hope to see you all at our Dec. 7 celebration of the MBI’s 20th Anniversary at the Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention, which will serve as this year’s holiday party. Click here to learn more. If you have photos to share from the past 20 years at the MBI, please send them to assistant director of communications Todd Taylor.

This summer, the MBI launched Facebook and Twitter accounts. I encourage you to follow them — they are great platforms to further promote the MBI and our research. Stay tuned for social media workshops led by our communications team to help you navigate these new resources.

Finally, remember that if you are approached by the media, please immediately connect with assistant director of communications Todd Taylor, science writer Michelle Koidin Jaffee or UF Health media relations coordinator Rossana Passaniti. They can vet requests, coordinate interviews and visits, ensure that paperwork is completed to protect patient privacy and help publicize your efforts.

Have a productive semester and thank you for all you do to make the MBI great!
