Scientific Director: Li Chen, Ph.D.
The MBI’s Computing and Bioinformatics Resources provides centralized support for MBI investigators using UF’s HiPerGator supercomputing cluster, with staff assisting to obtain accounts, set up software environments, manage data storage and move from pilot testing to production workflows.
Researchers are offered dedicated bioinformatics and biostatistics support — including bulk RNA-seq, single-cell and single-nucleus RNA-seq, and spatial transcriptomics — spanning experimental design, pipeline choice, quality control, power and sample size determination, downstream statistical analysis, clustering, differential expression, pathway analysis and data visualization. Standardized, well-documented workflows promote rigor, reproducibility and integration with datasets generated by other MBI cores.
Shared BioRender licenses and related tools supporting high-quality figure design and publication-ready schematics are also available.
Office hours are open
HiPerGator Help Desk at the MBI
The McKnight Brain Institute hosts a UFIT Research Computing help desk, providing expert guidance on UF’s HiPerGator AI resources. Researchers can receive in-person support on a range of topics, including system access, job execution, AI workflows and research software engineering.
