The McKnight Brain Institute will accept requests to offset the costs associated with symposia and conferences that benefit the UF neuroscience community and have a primary focus on central and peripheral nervous system function.
Requests may be submitted by conference organizers who are members of the MBI. Typical events would include more than 50 attendees and would have other sources of funding, with the MBI contribution not representing more than 50 percent of the total conference budget. In general, funding will not exceed $5,000 per conference, although well-justified proposals for larger requests will be considered by the MBI Education and Outreach Committee.
Conferences supported by the MBI will expect speaker and participant lists to reflect diversity with respect to academic rank, gender and race.
An acknowledgement of MBI support will be expected in sponsor information for the conference.
