McKnight Leadership Awards

Through funding provided to the McKnight Brain Institute, we have established the McKnight Leadership Awards. These awards recognize excellence in neuroscience research and/or education by post-doctoral and clinical fellows as well as assistant professors who are MBI members at the University of Florida. We have dedicated $2,500 per year in support of this program and we anticipate that two awards will be given annually.

The funds serve to recognize post-doctoral fellows, clinical fellows and assistant professors who have shown outstanding leadership in neuroscience research and/or education. Nominations of individuals who have worked to increase diversity, equity and/or inclusion in neuroscience research, education, and/or health care or nominations that highlight leadership in the face of the pandemic are highly encouraged.Individuals may be nominated for the award by faculty through a letter not to exceed one page (submit through this webpage) by March 1, 2021. By March 15, 2020, the MBI will select a group of nominees to submit application packets that summarizes their achievements. Completed application packets will then be due April 1, 2021.

For questions, please contact Dr. Jada Lewis (secretary@mbi.ufl.edu). Candidates will be evaluated by the MBI Education and Outreach Committee, and the co-chairs of that committee will oversee the process. Awards will be announced at a subsequent MBI Research Evening event and awardees will be expected to attend.
