McKnight Brain Institute

The MBI is developing new and enhancing existing initiatives and programs aimed at translating diagnostic neuroscience into therapeutic applications for all neurological disorders.

New multidisciplinary core facilities are being constructed along with new laboratories that will offer our scientists and physicians access to state-of-the-art facilities for studying, understanding and treating both the healthy and diseased central nervous system. With the recruitment of gifted basic science and clinical investigators, working along with established and new working groups focused on aging brain plasticity, brain cancer, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, dystonia, stroke, demyelinating and other neurological and psychiatric disorders, our growth in these research areas will lead to discoveries and new approaches for repair and recovery in the very near future.
