The MBI Leadership Team has been working to fine-tune our strategic plan and is grateful for all of the input and contributions received from the MBI community. Learn more about our progress at our MBI Community Town Hall on Dec. 7 (details below).

• We are nearing completion of major upgrades to our video surveillance and entry access systems to improve security.
• Recently, we launched an ambitious infrastructure project to upgrade our electrical systems to meet growing needs for regular and backup emergency power for research equipment.
• We’re proud to announce that the UF Neuromedicine Human Brain and Tissue Bank has relocated to a newly expanded space in the Academic Research Building. Learn more about this project.
• The MBI Executive Suite on the fifth floor is currently undergoing renovation but remains accessible and operational.
• We are continuing to upgrade the card access system for entry to the MBI building and its secure facilities. In the meantime, we encourage all occupants to obtain the new Gator One card which will be required for the MBI in due course. • Thank you to everyone who joined in our recent Halloween Door Decorating contest! While the Mathews Lab took home bragging rights this time, you will have another chance to shine. Be on the lookout for an upcoming 25th- anniversary themed door decorating contest; Looking Back (1990s), Looking Forward (2040s). More info coming soon!

• It is never too early to allocate your IDCs to the McKnight Brain Institute (center id: 10.0050)! These allocations translate into real-world dollars that the MBI uses to improve infrastructure, grow new initiatives, support research collaborations and build our neuroscience and neuromedicine community.
