The microscopy collaborative is a joint effort between the University of Florida’s McKnight Brain Institute (MBI) and the UF Department of Neuroscience. This is a shared resource with faculty allowing their microscopes to be used for campus projects.
Eligibility:
To enroll your lab into the collaborative, you must:
- Be a faculty member at the University of Florida.
- Be a member of the McKnight Brain Institute. Click here to learn more and become a member.
*please note: MBI members are encouraged to declare indirect costs (IDCs) to the MBI at the time of grant awards. We also ask members to please include the MBI in their affiliations on all publications to allow us to accurately track and report on all of our successes. - Accept the collaboration’s terms of agreement.

If you are a member of a lab enrolled in the co-op and need training on a particular machine, please fill out the general user registration form after your PI has enrolled their lab into the collaboration.
