Mar 1 05:00pm - Mar 1 06:00pm

This is a call for research proposals to be funded by the Florida Center for Brain Tumor Research, which is a State of Florida legislated appropriation, and state funded program. They will be competitively reviewed by a board consisting of out of state, independent scientific reviewers. The deadline to receive the completed applications for review is Monday, March 1, 2021 at 6pm EST. You may apply by emailing your submission or through the web portal at www.fcbtr.ufl.edu/pilot-funding/.

Winners will be announced in late spring, and the funding period is anticipated to start July 1, 2021, contingent on state funding allocations.

A total of $250,00 will be divided into 2-4 separate, one year pilot study awards. The awards will be based on the quality of applications, funding and review panel decisions. The awards are limited to brain tumor scientists in the State of Florida only. Proposals may be basic science, translational, or clinical and should be designed to move the discovery of treatments and cures for brain tumors forward.

The Florida Center for Brain Tumor Research is a collaborative effort and its Scientific Advisory Council includes top researchers from University of Florida, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic Florida, Scripps Research Institute, Orlando Health, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, University of Miami and Tallahassee Neurological Clinic. FCBTR also sponsors an annual statewide Brain Tumor Biomedical Technology Summit to encourage collaboration.

Please consider applying and forward the attached announcement to all scientists, physicians, trainees, graduate students in your departments …any potentially interested researcher at your institutions, hospitals, or clinics in Florida is welcome to apply.
